"Received a brilliant service from Edas for 1v1 counselling sessions.
My counsellor was Emilio and he was very good.
It’s funny cause originally I felt a little pushed into doing it from family but actually I am so glad I listened as talking with a professional who is detached from you and doesn’t know you is sometimes what you need to process things and gain clarity.
Emilio listened and guided. I have now finished our sessions but it’s also nice to know that if I do feel like I need another session or 2 I can get in touch to book one in with him.
Overall very happy with the service and would definitely recommend."

"A great big thank you to EDAS for all their continued support and encouragement.
You have given me a purpose, confidence and a love for life and myself.
You believed in me even when I didn’t believe in myself.
You constantly give me a safe space to be myself and my experience is helping others…….
Being grateful for you is an absolute understatement.
I truly love you all."

"My introduction to EDAS came in July 2019 when I was at my absolute rock bottom. I had left my children to ensure that they were not taken into care, my home in Cambridge and found myself at the age of 40 living back with my parents.
I had no confidence in myself or life in general, my self-esteem was on the floor and I hated myself.
Fast forward to today. I still have a way to go, but I now have the self-belief and confidence to know I can and will do it. I am completely happy in my own skin, I'm learning who the real me is. I'm not going to love everything about myself, but I do know that I can accept that.
In the previous 16 months I have attended support groups (Emotional Management, Anxiety Management, Relapse Prevention and Women's group to name a few), had the support of keyworkers and counsellors, been introduced to AA, completed 2 FITDAS courses, I am volunteering in their amazing cafe and I am completing the CATS course in the hope that I can give something back to this amazing community of people I have come to love.
Most importantly, I have learnt how to laugh again, I have met some of the BEST people in my life and I have hope for my future with my children.
I would also like to add that on top of the love and care I have been shown EDAS have loved, cared and supported my parents. They see more than the alcoholic/addict and understand that it is a family disease and for this also I will forever be grateful.
To sum up, and in case it isn't obvious from what I have written, EDAS have literally saved me and given me my life back.
Thank you EDAS, Always xxx"

"I'm a recovering heroin/crack addict.
I started treatment through EDAS around June/July 2019.
By August I had minimised using to once a week and September I had completely stopped. I had been using for almost ten years so for me this was a massive step. The support offered by EDAS has been fantastic. I received Hep C treatment through EDAS and completed that in January.
My keyworker has been fantastic and is always happy to take my call. The support given to me by EDAS has made it possible for me to regain a normal life. I'm now back working as a hypnotherapist and often offer support to addicts myself. Perhaps the NHS might consider taking on a few hypnotherapists in the future.
So it's November 2020, I am down to 3ml of methadone twice a day and am finally ready for a Subutex detox. I plan to be off opioids within a month.
It has been a long road for me but I would never have found my way without the support of the EDAS services. A big thank you to all the staff at EDAS."

"Don't think I'd have got this far if it wasn't for all the support that I have been given by all of the staff at EDAS.
Thank you for everything you do for all. "

"I started my EDAS journey with a lot of anger, blaming a lot of people for my alcohol addiction. I'm a single mum of 2 boys and although I was looking after my sons I wasn't doing the best I could for them or me.
My keyworker at EDAS made me realise that I could stop drinking and be the most amazing mum I could be.
I've been sober 99 days today and I never thought that possible. If anyone is struggling I can't give EDAS enough credit for all their help and support. If I can do it, there is hope for anyone.
My life now is amazing my children are happy and I'm happy so huge thank you to everyone at EDAS."

"I have an EDAS keyworker, he is very polite and really supportive. He has helped me so much to keep a positive mind on my journey with being a alcoholic.
I'm still not drinking through doing the FitDAS course and my keyworker's support plus EDAS other members.
Thank you for your support."

"Struggling with life? Treating it with unapproved substances? Struggling for an answer?
Try these guys, they will guide and support you however long it takes and be there for you FOREVER.
Reluctantly , very reluctantly I dragged myself up there and getting on for 4 years later have never looked back.
The most understanding, empathetic guys you will EVER meet."
