JOB DESCRIPTION

 

        Job Title:                    Poole Cleaner & Handyperson

        Salary Band:               DS13 – DS22 (£19293.00 – £22020.00) pro rata

        Responsible to:          EDAS FINANCE MANAGER

        Hours:                         15 hours per week (This may include some unsociable hours)

        Closing date:               12th February 2019

       

MAIN PURPOSE

A reliable Cleaner/Handyman to take care of our facilities and carry out cleaning and maintenance duties to ensure the cleanliness, upkeep and repair tasks of the interior and exterior of EDAS company premises.

 

Responsibilities

  • Clean, stock and supply designated facility areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, toilet cleaning etc)
  • Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities
  • Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects as and when required
  • Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs
  • Make adjustments and minor repairs
  • Perform maintenance and light repairs
  • Perform routine landscaping on the grounds
  • Paint and fill gaps or crevices (on walls, sidewalks etc.)
  • Undertake light installation or carpentry (e.g. build cabinets/desks)
  • Repair equipment or appliances
  • Undertake duties as assigned or emergency tasks (e.g. shovelling snow)
  • Keep EDAS garage clean and organised – make regular trips to the council recycling to dispose of rubbish.
  • Keep alleyway clean, well maintained and clear of debris
  • Liaise with Finance Manager to stock and maintain supply rooms
  • Follow all health and safety regulations

Requirements

  • Proven working experience as a cleaner and handyperson
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
  • Experience with hardware tools and electrical equipment
  • Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing
  • Good communication ability
  • Well-organised and apt in problem-solving
  • Attention to detail
  • Integrity
  • Well-organized with strong general repair skills. A keen eye for detail and physical stamina.
  • To undertake such other duties as may be required from time to time commensurate with the level of the post
  • To comply with all decisions and policies of EDAS and any relevant statutory requirements, including Equal Opportunities legislation, the Health and Safety at Work Act and Data Protection Act.
