The Ascentis Level 2 Extended Certificate in Health and Social Care Professions is designed to help learners make an informed choice about a career in health and social care. Achievement of this qualification could act as progression towards programmes of study at Level 2 or Level 3, such as the Access to HE Diploma.

Learners will need to have undertaken FitDAS 2 to progress to FitDAS 3.

To achieve the Level 2 Extended Certificate in Health and Social Care Professions learners must first have completed the Level 2 Certificate in Health & Social Care Professions, which runs for 12 weeks.

These qualifications are aimed at learners wishing to develop skills in Health and Social Care and may wish to go onto further study or work in this area. 

Opportunities for Progression

It is intended that these qualifications will help learners towards the following progression routes:
  • Vocational or subject specific learning at Level 2 or above. Further study at Level 3 including the Ascentis Access to HE Diploma, Apprenticeships and higher level Ascentis qualifications
  • Employment

FitDAS 1 = Level 1 & Level 2 Healthy Living Award – Starts 6th of January 2020 x 10 weeks

FitDAS 2 = Level 2 Certificate in Health & Social Care Professions – Starts 6th February 2020 x 12 weeks 

FitDAS 3 = Extended Level 2 Certificate in Health & Social Care Professions – Starts 10th January 2020 x 12 weeks

Cost: If you are aged 16+ and registered as a current service user with EDAS there is no cost to join the programme

For external participants, the course fees are £295.00

Assessment: Online multiple-choice assessment to be completed at end of course
