Everyday Maths

A FREE 8-week course supporting learners to improve their Everyday Maths and numeracy skills.

Everyday Maths is an 8-week course designed to help you develop confidence and ability in your maths skills, and bridge the gap in your mathematical knowledge.
 
If you are an adult living in the Dorset area and don't already have a GCSE at grade C (or equivalent) in maths, this course will help you improve your mathematical proficiency.
 
 
Everyday Maths leads to achieving the following Awards:
  • Entry Level 3 Award in Mathematical Skills – Developing and Applying Number Skills AND

  • Entry 3 Award in Mathematical Skills – Developing and Applying Addition and Subtraction Skills

  • 4th April 2023 to 23rd May 2023

Aims for Learners

This course aims to enable you to:

  • Gain underpinning mathematical skills
  • Bridge the gap in their mathematical knowledge
  • Enhance your employability skills
  • Prepare for work opportunities and job promotions
  • Progress onto further education
  • Learn mathematical skills for everyday use, like keeping up with finances at home
  • Develop the skills required to move into the world of work or work-based learning 

Who Can Join?

This course is open to adults over 19 years of age, living in the BCP and Dorset areas, who wish to develop and demonstrate their skills in Mathematics. Everyday Maths is FREE to join.

How Will The Course Be Assessed?

Participants will sit an online multiple-choice assessment to achieve an Ascentis accreditation. 

Progression Opportunities

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will have the opportunity to undertake further study.
 
Additionally, the course will help learners improve their employability, and prepare for work opportunities.

Fees

This course is free of charge for participants.
