Weekly Mental Health Checklist
Mental Health Day should be a priority every day. It's important that we make some time to ensure we are being proactive in managing our wellbeing and mental health.
Here are some steps we can take every week in order to boost our mental health.
- Move your body - Keeping active can be great for our mental health.
- Try something new - Learning new skills can boost self-confidence and raise self-esteem.
- Go outside and get some fresh air - Going out in nature can make us feel calmer and boost our mood.
- Do something you enjoy - Research shows that having hobbies is linked to less stress and fewer feelings of depression. Doing activities we enjoy can make us feel happier and more relaxed.
- Connect with a loved one - Social connections can increase feelings of happiness and self-worth, and help us feel more secure.
- Be present and breathe - Being mindfully present positively affects one’s mental health as it shifts our thoughts.
- Reach out to someone - If things are feeling too overwhelming and you feel you can’t cope, remember you don’t have to try and handle mental health issues on your own. It's okay to reach out if you feel you need help.
